APICS certification is pleased to announce updates to the certification maintenance program.

Beginning January 4, 2018, the maintenance program will include:

• Streamlined point structure for existing activities such as:

– Attending APICS sponsored conferences.

– Presentations and educational development.

– Volunteer service to APICS. • Point Categories consolidated into Education and Service.

• More ways to earn points –

– Reading relevant books or articles.

– Participating in relevant project management work for your employer.

– Participating in the APICS Mentorship program.

What has changed:

• Point categories are consolidated from 4 to 2, Education and Service. – Previous Categories

– 1) Continuing Education.

2) Presentations, publications, and educational development.

3) Service to the supply chain and operations management profession (SSCOMP).

4) Professional membership (PM).

• Activities and points under the category 4 model still exist and most of the points stayed the same, however, they were restructured and moved under the new category 2 model.

Examples below:

– Example – Professional Membership such as APICS is no longer its own category, it’s now under the Education category with the same amount of points available to the candidate.

– Example – Presentations are not in their own category they are under Education.

– Example - Previously under the Service category, the point scale was different if you were an APICS Board member or an APICS Certification committee member; under the new category these are all equal and capped at 5 points per year.

Candidates can begin to use the new maintenance point structure now when updating their application.

A new application process with the new maintenance point format will be available January 4th, 2018.
