Due to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials are not allowed into China to inspect U.S.-bound cargo under the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program, CBP is planning to allow commercial organizations with operations in China to act as “third party validators” that such cargo presents no security risks. The U.S. importers could gain C-TPAT benefits of shorter wait times for entry into the U.S. and a reduced number of cargo inspections, Reduced number of CBP examinations, Front of the line inspections, Possible exemption from Stratified Exams, Shorter wait times at the border, Assignment of a Supply Chain Security Specialist to the company, Antibribery methods,  Access to the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) Lanes at the land borders According to CBP, about 55 U.S. companies that participate in C-TPAT bring 100 percent of their imported goods in from China. Another 245 companies bring more than 75 percent of their imported goods in from China.
